The difference between marble and granite

1. The first is the difference between the composition of marble and granite. Although both are natural materials, the formation process is different.

2. Granite is actually a kind of igneous rock material, mainly produced by volcanic materials, such as magma. Subsurface liquid magma forms new crystals and colours through cooling and solidification, mineral gases and liquid infiltration into rocks. 3. Marble belongs to metamorphic rock. Metamorphic rock is another kind of stone which is naturally metamorphosed by one kind of stone under the mixed action of high temperature, high pressure and minerals. Qualitative change may be recrystallization, texture change or color change. Natural marble is a metamorphic rock formed by high temperature and high pressure in the crust. It belongs to medium hard stone, mainly composed of calcite, limestone, serpentine and dolomite. Usually there are obvious patterns and many mineral particles.

4. Marble is abundant in Dali, Yunnan Province. It is a kind of high-grade interior floor decoration material with high compressive resistance, low water absorption, easy cleaning and fine texture. Ordinary families can choose marble of about 100-200 yuan per square meter when decorating. The disadvantage of marble is that it reacts quickly with moisture and carbon dioxide in the air in the environment, making its surface lose luster and become rough.

5. Granite has the advantages of wear resistance, good frost resistance, weathering resistance, corrosion resistance and beautiful color. Granite floor decoration can make the room noble and elegant, showing luxury. But its price is more expensive, the general household can choose about 200-300 yuan per square meter varieties.
